Lumley Castle
- Description:
- Castle incorporating the remains of an early medieval manor house and a 15th century chapel. The castle itself is roughly square, with four large buttressed rectangular corner towers, and is built around a square central courtyard accessed through a gatehouse and vaulted passage on the east side. The main ranges of the castle, now an hotel, are three storeys high, rising to four storeys in the corner towers, which are crenellated, and each have four octagonal corner turrets.
